Lakes and reservoirs are biogeochemical reactors that receive nutrients (C,N,P) in several forms, some of which will be transformed, emitted into the atmosphere, stored as biomass, permanently buried in their sediments, or transferred downstream. By coupling limnological, paleolimnological and modelling approaches, our group's objective is to advance the understanding of decadal to centennial transfers and transformations of C,N,P in lake-watershed systems, and the potential impacts on lake functioning and on biogeochemical cycles along the land-ocean aquatic continuum.
