Meta-analysis

Meta-analysis

Through large-scale analyses of lake-land interactions we may be able to develop regional and global syntheses of pressing environmental problems. Large-scale surveys of lakes can be a massive undertaking but have been instrumental in improving our understanding of lake functioning, species distributions, and limnological stressors. This theme will  investigate new techniques and models in the application and analyses of large-scale spatial data, and an opportunity to highlight the results of these essential surveys, with potentially global impact.

  • Analysis of reeds distribution in lakes from the world based on satellite images
  • Developing metrics to describe lakes and watershed in meta-analysis approaches
  • The "landscape paleolimnology" of C burial rates, using a global distributed network of lake sediment archives
